Measuring Guide

Here we will provide some helpful tips on how to measure your walls. If you have an odd shaped wall, or would like assistance, please email us a diagram of your room with measurments to hello@wallsneedlove.com

Step 1

Using a tape measure, write down the widest width and the highest height of the wall. We only need the wall measurement, don’t include any baseboards or crown molding.

Step 2

Measure every wall that you plan to cover. Regarding windows and doors, just pretend they don’t exist and just measure the widest portions of the wall. This guarantees full seam-to-seam coverage.

Step 3

Input your wall measurements into the calculator on the product page. Enter only your wall dimensions, do not add extra. You now have the total square footage needed for your job.

Standard Wall

Simply measure the full height and width of the wall. We need your exact wall size, rounded up to the nearest inch. We only need the surface you wish to cover, excluding any skirting boards of coving.

Wall With Obstacles

When there is a door, window, or other obstacle on your wall, only measure the total width and height of the wall, as the obstacle will be cut away during installation. Feel free to send us a diagram with measurements to see if we can minimize your paper order.

Wall With Slant

When you have a sloped ceiling or wall, measure the longest and widest parts only, ignoring any slopes. If your slope is prominent, like a staircase wall, send us a diagram with measurments.

Wall With Vault

If your wall has two slants, email us a diagram with measurements of your wall. If you would like to attempt to calculate on your own, our panel widths are 26" wide. You will need a panel length 4" longer than the highest measurement per 26" section on your wall. We print in pairs for panels.
