Choosing a material for your custom mural
For the cleanest seams and a finish that looks professionally hung, we recommend prepasted smooth: activate with water, slide into place, and it still removes cleanly when you're ready for a change. Seams matter most on murals, where every panel has to line up into one image. Safe for renters and all homeowners.
Custom peel and stick wall murals install with no water at all and are a great alternative. Be sure to read our installation instructions to prep your walls correctly. In bathrooms, peel and stick works well in powder rooms and in well-ventilated or lightly used guest baths; for a bathroom with daily shower steam, we recommend prepasted smooth.
Traditional paste-the-wall and Type II commercial-grade options are available for permanent and high-traffic installs. The traditional paste can be strippable with the correct wallpaper paste. We recommend Roman paste products. Every material is vinyl- and PVC-free, GreenGuard Gold certified and printed with non-toxic, water-resistant UVgel inks.

Can a custom mural be removed?
Yes. Prepasted smooth and peel-and-stick both remove cleanly, and traditional paste is strippable when hung with the right wallpaper paste. Type II is made for permanent, high-traffic installs.
How fast does it ship?
We print to order in Indianapolis and ship in 1-3 business days after you approve your proof, plus FedEx transit time.
Can I return a custom mural?
Custom-printed murals can't be returned, which is why we send a proof first. Any defect in material or print quality is replaced or credited under our warranty.
