Laundry Room Geometric Accent Wall Update
It’s not often that people think to brighten up a utilitarian space like the laundry room. But why not give this overlooked space a facelift and jazz it up into a more fun and stylish, yet functional area? After all, we already spend time in the laundry room accomplishing tedious tasks (i.e. THE LAUNDRY!), it wouldn’t hurt to add some color and make things a little more interesting, right?
And today’s feature does exactly that with the help of WallsNeedLove’s Pixel Diamond Removable Wallpaper. Laundry rooms are ill-famed for being tiny and restricted, but Create/Enjoy’s Suzannah easily created an accent wall that worked perfectly for her little laundry room. And it took up no space and relatively no effort!
The inspiration
“I've seen some very glamorous bathrooms in designer mansion-sized homes, but all I wanted for our laundry room (enclosed in the hall to the garage) was function and a little interest. We painted the walls all white, installed the same laminate floor we have throughout the house, and added some very useful and nice-looking white cabinets above the washer/dryer, but it was SO plain it was a little depressing. And it was impossible to hang framed art since we didn't have much wall space except the area hidden by the doors when open. So, a fun patterned wallpaper was the perfect solution and I installed it just in the "backsplash" area, which is a great place to add interest without overwhelming a small space.”
Your laundry room doesn’t have to be that dull and boring space you only go into to sort out your dirty clothes. Doing the laundry might not be the most fun thing in the world, but who said the room you do it in has to be the same way? Even doing something as simple as sprucing up a drab wall can go a long way. And wallpapers are a quick and easy trick to do it without going through the hassle of getting tiles installed. It might be easier on the budget too!
