We have long known that color plays an integral part in how we feel about things. Fast food restaurants use red to entice us and make us hungry, government agencies use blue to instill trust, prisons are painting their cells pink to subdue the inmates…(dead serious, check it out) and Moms make their children blissfully happy with rainbow birthday cakes. Color theory is a complex system affecting everything from our emotions to our appetites, and even influencing us differently dependent upon our gender (studies suggest that men prefer bright colors while women prefer soft ones) and even our age. And though we have a general idea of how each color makes us feel, it can be difficult to decide on the right one for your home. To make things even more difficult, each year there are “in” colors that influence design trends. Please remember that colors look differently on the screen than they do in person, so if you are still unsure then ordering a color chart might be helpful! Our full color chart is available for purchase on our website. If you are looking for wallpaper samples you can find that here!
How many dots you need reallydepends. How far apart are you spacing them, what design are you using. Those factors really determine what you will need. Here is an example wall with dimensions 9.5 x 12.5, each dot spaced 1 foot apart from the one before it. The rows will alternate 12 and 13 dots each and are 1 foot away from the one above or below it. In this case you will need 144 dots. If you still have questions shoot us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org!
Like anything, you must first do some planning. How many stripes you will need depends entirely on your design. If you order 1 inch stripes and you want them spaced two inches apart, you will need a great deal more stripes than if you wanted 12 inch stripes placed 10 inches apart. You with me?
Okay, great! So what you will need to do is figure out the size of your wall. Say, for example, your wall is 8' x 9', pretty standard stuff, and you are using 6 inch stripes placed one foot apart each. So the first thing you know is: you will want at least 8 stripes (9 foot wall, one foot apart each will mean that you use eight stripes---keep in mind that the actual stripe takes up room so each stripe will actually be 1.5 inches apart because your stripe is 6 inches). You need (at least) 8 stripes that are 8 feet long (your wall is 8 feet tall). So: 8 feet multiplied 8 times is 64 feet of vinyl that you will need. Each roll of EasyStripe is 36 feet long, which means that you will need 2 rolls in order to complete your project!
To figure out how much wallpaper you will need, you will need to figure out the square footage of your wall. Try using this calculator from Better Homes and Gardens: http://www.bhg.com/home-improvement/advice/measuring-materials/square-footage-calculator/. The square footage of the wallpaper is as follows:
20" X 5' - 8.33 sq ft
20" X 8' - 13.36 sq ft
20" X 10' - 17.67 sq ft
Finally, match your square footage to the next highest wallpaper square footage and go!
Not sure this will work for you? Think about it this way:
The wallpaper is 20" (1.67 feet) wide (across) so you need to figure out the length of your wall, say for example it is 100 inches (8.3 ft) long. Then you need to divide the length of the wallpaper (20") into the length of your wall (in this example it's 100") to see how many times you will need the pattern to repeat across the top. In this example you will need 5 strips of wall paper (100" divided by 20"). If your wall is 6 feet tall, then you will need 5 sets of wall paper that are 6 feet in length. This means that you will need a total of 30 feet of wall paper. So you should order the 20" x 48' option so that you can cover the entire wall. You can check this by figuring out the square footage. Plug your dimensions into the calculator 8.3 ft x 6 ft. which gives you 49.8 sq ft. More than 41.75 and less than 80.16 means you have selected the correct option. Easy as Pi, right?
Our vinyl wall decals stick to most smooth and flat surfaces including painted drywall, glass, and mirror. We cannot guarantee that our decals will stick to surfaces that are highly textured or painted with certain water based (porous) paints and/or flat matte finishes. User discretion is advised.
It happens... In the event that the customer damages a portion of their decal during installation, we will replace the damaged portion at a 50% discount and the customer will be responsible for the shipping.
All of our decals are cut from premium quality, rich tone, matte finish, removable Vinyl or full-color, repositionable Fabtac.
But how do you know which is which?!
That's easy! Anything that is solid color is made from vinyl. You can tell because it looks like it was actually cut out of a solid color in order to create the design (because it was!). Need some examples? How about these:
Our other product is called Fab-tac and it's kind of like a mix between paper and fabric (with the adhesive backing of course). You can tell which these are because they actually look printed. This material is designed to hold its shape. So if it looks wrinkled, don't even worry about it. It will smooth out when you put it on the wall. This includes things like murals, wallpaper, circle prints and most of the artist work. Here are some examples!
The best part: no matter which material you use, all WNL wall graphics are 100% Guaranteed interior safe and removable. Boom.
Yes! All vinyl & Fab-Tac wall designs stick to any non-porous paint, metal, glass, ceramic, tile, plastic and wood. If your surface is smooth and non-greasy then our graphics will stick. Vinyl and Fab-Tac wall art will not stick to brick, stone, unfinished wood, or any rough-textured porous surface.
This is a great question! And the answer is: it depends. It depends on the kind of texture. It depends on how textured it is. And it depends on the material it is textured with. It also depends on the type of decal you chose. Here are some examples:
It depends...there are two materials that our decals are made from: one that is printed on and one that is created by removing the negative space from vinyl. It is much easier to reuse the printed fab-tac material than it is to reuse the vinyl. However, vinyl decals like polka dots, thick lettering, stars and other solid pieces are still quite easy to reuse.
Quotes and detailed art are one time use. Not sure if your favorite graphic is reusable? Call us and we'll give you the "sticky" on it.
